Decoder installation on BR E95 for TT(1:120)

Locomotive:      Brawa BR E95 (53000)
Decoder:           Flieschmann w/o NEM651 (6 pins)- FLM-685502 s 35 mm cable lenght
Digital format:   DCC
Interface:          No
Milling:               No
Difficulty:           Easy to medium

Today tis beauty will be presented. the work is little bit nervous becouse of very thin and small components. The model has two engines (plased in two parts of the locomotive) connected via cardan.

Brawa reccomends decoder instalation with  Lenz - 7 pins (6 + blue common wire for lights). User gude show hard model reconstruction for decoder installation with cutting of boards etc. I will show you more easier way to do this.

Here it is:

Disassamble cardan and remove both covers of cabin V (leading one) and cabin H.

Desolder Wires connected  bords and current -carrying lamella. They are wrapped up and put betwenn board and engine. Remove the boards and desolder Diods (D1 и D2) from both boards.

Decoder will be installed in the Cabin V so I make insiollation of the bottom of the roof.

the next steps show how to manipulate the boards in way to keep all current- carrying systems from all 6 axis and pantograph as well.

Cut off the paths on each board as shown on the picture (see the white ). 3 cuts per board in total.

Assamble the boards and solder the wires from wheels.

Remove/desolder  the pins of the decoder.

Solder two brown wires (one per board) to keep power supply of the model.

Put decoder on insulation as described

Cabin V
red- to +
Black - to  -
gray to  М-
orange to  М+
white to diode hole

Cabin Н
Yellow wire between diode hole and yellow wire of decoder (blue insolator on picture)

Brown wire from M- to M+ in Cabin V
Gray wire from M+ to M- in Cabin V

Use black permanent marker for wires between cabins

Assemble all parts. Now we have 6 instead of 3 wires between cabins plus cardan.

And it is ready
